in late july, our design team was out in montauk in search of inspiration and enjoying summer out east. with only a few more weeks left of summer to take advantage of all that there is to do in montauk, steph and lauren have compiled this list of go-to spots to get the most out of your east coast excursion.

navy beach @navybeachmontauk
"a montauk must: don't leave montauk before catching a dreamy sunset with cocktails and truffle fries at navy beach. and better yet, stay for dinner."
"a delicious and healthy morning decision - insider tip: cash only"
the hideaway @thehideawaymontauk
"it's hard to want to eat mexican food after moving to texas and being so close to mexico, but never here at the hideaway. the real deal. don't miss their cocktails - the skinny pina is a fave."
crow's nest @crowsnestmtk
"another beautiful sunset moment and a top place to spot some great style - they don't take reservations so get on the list and grab a drink from the bar and sit outside around the fire pits (after checking out Melet Mercentile's pop up shop)."
herb's market @herbsmarket
"stop here to pack up essentials before heading to the beach."
"after said beach trip, grab a few tacos and cocktails here."
duryea's lobster deck @duryeaslobsterdeck
"new owners, but still a great spot to grab a famous lobster roll out on the pier."
lunch lobster roll @lunchlobroll
"famous for it's appearance on The Affair, but still truly impressive food!"

adam mar @adam.mar
"awesome to see another american brand based around the same values as esby - this shop is just outside the town's center and adam carries his own brand as well as many other american-made goods."
the surf lodge @thesurflodge
"we aren't a huge fan of crowds so if you aren't either, come in a day early or stay sunday night to get the best of what the surf lodge has to offer. enjoy drinks, food, shopping, and live entertainment at this cool hotel."

you also won't want to miss:
all of the fresh fruit and produce available at the roadside farmer's markets that are scattered all along the coast.
the amazing shops in east hampton and amagansett square
the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center: the home and studio of the quintessential abstract expressionist painter, Jackson Pollock. it's an incredibly inspiring place to visit and tour, and the main source of inspiration taken from this trip.
