understated elegance is what fail jewelry by Christine Fail aims for. her designs are both simple and unique, classic and modern. her pieces are the ones you'll pick up day after day without even thinking about it. effortless.
what will you be bringing to the sale? any favorite items?
i'm bringing some retired styles from past seasons, a few rectangular HOME spirit chain samples, and silver versions of select EPIC pieces.
how has a background in studio art influenced your design and personal aesthetic?
i got my BFA in Studio Art... that allowed me hone my design skills and train my eye for proportion and color, but it was also what allowed me to get my first experience working in metal. metal was was foreign to me at the time as a 2D artist.
what are you looking forward to in this upcoming season? any trends you’re looking forward to embracing (or continuing), what’s catching your eye?
i'm looking forward to working in bright sliver (all things come back in style), and mixing in semi precious stones into my F16 collection for the first time in over 2 years.
you can only wear 3 pieces of jewelry for the next 10 years… what do you choose?
wedding ring, small trace hook, and my brass utilitarian bangle
what advice would you give to your 16 y.o self?
take your prerequisite classes at community college and take as many art and design classes as physically possible, and a few business classes would be a good idea too!
come meet Cristine and check out her sale collection here at esby on Saturday, the 30th!
